Re: Mites?

Hi, as tori says all rats carry mites but only react to them when stressed or unwell so it is fine to start intros and as it is your lone rat who has the mites being on their own may be causing stress so it may well help. Re: Just small?

I have 2 girls from different litters that are smaller than their sisters and they were both the runts, they are happy and healthy but no amount of feeding makes them put weight on but I always make sure they get a little extra food when the others aren't looking. they have both got the sweetest nat...

Re: Am I being paranoid? Possible pyo?

Hi I don't have any experience of pyo, I hope it's not that. How old is Tilly, today I was reading the s scuttling gourmet and it said as a rat ages one of the signs is what you described about her spine being more prominent and sides dropping so looking indented. Other signs were loss of muscle mas...

Re: Strength

Its probably mostly hereditary with regard to their build but the exercise they do and eagerness to be active will have a influence, may be your stronger ones are more active therefore have gained more muscle mass. Re: Whats your average cost of making a mix?

I made my first mix a couple of months ago, I spent about £20 on ingredients from RR and also bought some cereal from tesco. I made 5kg of mix but still have lots of leftovers of some ingredients for next time as it was cheaper to buy larger amounts, As I have leftoversi shouldn't have to spend as m...

Re: What's up with Sock?

Just found a photo from about a month ago where you can just make out his bald patch starting but I hadn't really noticed it at the time. Checked the other two and their fur seems fine - if it was mites wouldn't they have spread already? mites only become a problem for a rat when they are stressed ...

Re: Hiding meds - reformed choccy drops?

I used to do that when I had to give steroid tablets. I melted the choc drops , added ground up tablets and mixed well, put it into ice cube tray ( silicone one would be easier to get them out) and chilled, then cut up into correct dose size, had to give a sixth of a tablet so cut into 6.
