Re: Ill rat, please help only had her for 2 months

She's been to see the vet, been given two types of medication to feed her daily, vet recommended to feed her separately to try and boost her weight. She's then going in for a check up in a week's time. Doesn't look so fluffed up today, and she's not sucking in her sides anymore. So *fingers crossed*...

Re: Ill rat, please help only had her for 2 months

I'm going to take her to the vet on Saturday morning. It's the soonest I can do, she's skinny, but I've seen her eat and drink and she can run well, no lose of balance, I'll continue her treatment of baytril, but for now that is the best I can do. I've been mixing it with yoghurt.

Re: Marshmallow has a small lump.

Ah fair enough, thank you, he doesn't seem to be bother by it and it doesn't hinder movement or anything, he's also not bothered when I touch it. He's a tough little guy, already lasted a year longer then his brother.

Marshmallow has a small lump.

My old lad Mr Marshmallow has a small pea sized lump on his shoulder blade, it is hard and he's lost all fur on it, it's under he skin but doesn't feel like it's attached to the muscle, at first I thought it was an abscess, but it's not going away or getting any bigger, he's had it for about a month...

Re: Looking after someone else's rat (who has HLD)

I think that is what the medicine is for.

He seems to be eating and drinking fine, the bottles are low so he can reach them.

Obvious at this stage if he was one of my own rats I would have had him PTS, but you can't do that to someone else's rat.

Looking after someone else's rat (who has HLD)

I'm currently looking after my tutor rats while he's away on holiday, but one of them is very old and has HLD, he also is a bit on the thin side and has a bad eye. I have medicine to give him but I'm a bit worried about him dying in my care. The owners have told me he has been to the vet, but he sti...

Re: deleting accounts

I imagine that someone would want to do it if they made their account on the fly, but now dislike the username they chose and don't want to be associated with it... its kinda like when kids dislike the birth name they were given, I know someone would had their name legally changed from Norman to Dav...

Re: Breeding and birthing - what happens when things go wron

I'm so sorry Amzy, that is terrible to hear :-( Luckily I've never had any major problems, they usually birth when I'm out. I've had 4 litters over all my years of keeping rats, the last 3 litter there have been no deaths, litter of 16, 13 and 12. However my first ever litter the mother gave birth t...

Are we allowed to post links to youtube?

I've got a video on youtube that I want to share... but I don't know if it's allowed. I've lost the video on my pc, so can't upload to photobucket.
