Re: Pets At Home Rabbit Muesli

I thought we were talking about the PAH rabbit museli in the first place? *confused* Which of the above is the food you're asking about actually using? That was my original question, yeah - but then the conversation turned to the new vs old rat muesli. I was confused too, hence why I posted the ing...

Re: Pets At Home Rabbit Muesli

Whoops, I'm getting confused between which thread is which. I thought there was a link, but it was in the other one  The New Muesli: Alfalfa Meal, Flaked Peas, Flaked Maize, Extruded Wheat, Maize, Toasted Wheat, Soya Pellets (Produced from genetically modified soya), Sunflower Seeds, Oats, Fla...

Re: Pets At Home Rabbit Muesli

the new one is 1% less moist. Is that a problem? Will the addition of the alfalfa cause a problem? I know rats have trouble digesting it :S Not really anything worth changing the whole packaging IMO. They're having a big packaging change following on from the phasing out of the rabbit muesli. The h...

Re: Pets At Home Rabbit Muesli

I'm not sure what's in it off the top of my head :S I'm popping up later on to get some food so I'll have a look and see. Also yeah, I've been stockpiling Supa Fruiti, but there's a pet shop near me that still sells it for half the price, even with my colleague discount, so I'm not too worried. I wo...

Pets At Home Rabbit Muesli

Just a quick one - is Pets At Home rabbit muesli suitable as a base mix? I know they're phasing it out (as well as the Burgess Supa Fruiti, damn it!), but it's going fairly cheap at my store at the moment, so I was thinking of getting a bulk bag of it as a base mix if there's any left, as I'm going ...

Re: Seizures

Double posting just to say that Thor's been fit free for about a week, and has only had about two or three over the last ten days to two weeks. Considering he was having that many a day at one point, he's made an awfully fast recovery xD Still a bit rattly when he breathes, but not as bad as he was ...

Re: Seizures

Okay, update! So Thor went on for a few days having a couple of fits a day, then it went down to one and then he went for about 5 days with no fits at all. However, we brought him home from Brighton to Basingstoke (my flatmates thought they were hamsters, so I wasn't really that fond of the idea of ...

Re: Vet recommendations in Brighton?

Kind of - they were alright but not really that helpful. Having said that though, they said they had to rule out some stuff so they didn't really do very much. Still, I'm going to get a second opinion. Thank you very much - I shall PM her now :)

Re: Seizures

Been to the vets with him today. The vet I saw told me that it's likely a reaction to the zithromax which has caused middle ear disease, a symptom of which is seizures. He's been ordered bed rest and close observation of his fits and if they carry on after a few weeks, but people on a rodent group o...

Re: Seizures

Righty, I've registered with a vets who has a lot of experience with small animals. It was a toss up between there and somewhere else, but when I asked the second place about their ratty experience, they said "all our vets deal with rats" and then when I asked them about seizures, they said "I think...

Re: Seizures

David said that Thor never seemed to react badly to the Zithromax before Hmm, that's a good point. I don't suppose the pills would be any different to the suspension, would it? I was given capsules to dissolve in water and give it orally that way. It's still the same medication though so I don't th...

Vet recommendations in Brighton?

Okay so I have literally no idea where I'm supposed to post this so mods, feel free to shift it Does anyone have any recommendations of good vets in Brighton? I mean, good value and good advice. I moved to the area on Sunday and it's now Tuesday, and already I am in need of a vet but I have no idea ...

Re: Seizures

You said he had one in the bath, is that unfamiliar to him? Not really - he's been in it before, both with water in and without. I've given him baths before (he gets sticky from me smearing medicated baby food on him so he'll actually take it) which he doesn't enjoy, but not to the point of causing...

Re: Seizures

Amy - He started having the fits after I took him to the vet, so they don't know anything about it :/ I definitely think I will D: Apart from the seizures and his breathing, there's nothing else really wrong with him, which is why I found it so weird. Could it be possible that it's related to his me...

Seizures

My boy Thor keeps having seizures. I don't know why, I haven't figured out a pattern yet. He had two about a week ago, within the space of about six hours, and since then I haven't seen him have any until today, when he had four in the space of about twenty minutes, getting gradually worse. He's bei...
