Re: possibly going blind

blossomgirl: not normally, no. i think in this picture she is facing left because i had a treat in my hand on the left. (i know it looks the right in the picture, but pictures are reversed). She just seems more cautious about the way she moves. Her sister Eve is a little whippet, and thats how i can...

Re: possibly going blind

Yeah, a visit to the vets is on the cards. i cleaned the cage out yesterday and replaced the large shelves with a halfed shelf and she fell straight of it. Then she stayed low to the ground for the whole night. Checked today and she's back in the hamock at the top. i guess the fall scared her a bit ...

possibly going blind

Is it possible to tell if your rat is going blind?

My rat Adam (female) seems to be walking and running around with a lack of direction. Not only that, her right eye seems to be turning whiter.

Will post a pic, if someone could throw in their two scents etc.

Re: Aurora/Atlanta 600

After selling my last aurora 450 cage to a friend and using the Furet Plus as a temp, i was easily tempted by equinecaninefeline to purchase the Aurora 600 for a bargain price of £100. They claimed it had some damage but when it arrived, it was practically perfect. It even arrived with more shelves ...

Re: Auroras/Atalantas

Since getting my rats in November 2011, i have since had 5 cages. The aurora, flight bird cage (which never arrived from an ebay seller), liberta explorer, critter 3 and ferplast furet plus but by far, the Aurora was the best! since sold it to a friend. (don't ask why) http://farm8.staticflickr.com/...

Re: SRS / Explorer / Ferret and Critter Nation Style cages

Also tried the fleece approach but this is what my girls thought of it.

They always dragged the fleece into their hut.

Re: SRS / Explorer / Ferret and Critter Nation Style cages

The explorer i no longer have. Bought second hand in brilliant condition for £80 off preloved. Was home to Adam, Eve, Eden and Apple. No longer has this cage as i found it took up far to much room. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7119/7585160808_0c50792e7a.jpg Note: image link corrected for you (use t...
