Feeding for 3 month olds

Hey, When I adopted my 2 new girls Mint and Mary Jane, the previous owners said that they rescued them from a breeder that wasn’t the best. They said that they fed them on children’s cereal so they were quite small. Obviously, this makes me a bit worried for their health and their growth. They seem t...

Old RI

Hey I just adopted 2 new baby rats about 3 months old with the intention of housing them with my elderly 2 when they’re ready. When I got them the old owner mentioned how they suffered from a previous RI but had been cleared, and just before I got them they were taken back to a vet to be sure, and a...

Alpaca fleece

Hey just going through different bedding to see what my ratties like best. I was winding if alpaca fleece was suitable for rats or would it get tangly if that makes sense?

It’s says it’s been short straight from the alpacas, not treated and that it’s hypoallergenic

Thanks :)

Re: Enrofloxacin, bleeding?

I've noticed today a couple dribbles off blood seeming to come from her vagina. Could this be to do with the antibiotics? I will ring the vets tomorrow and ask advice.

Very worrying, she still seems spritely :(

Enrofloxacin

Hey, My rattie Petal, seems completely well but has been sneezing and grunting for a little while so I took her to the vets today. They've given me an oral solution of 25mg/ml Enrofloxacin which I am to dilute 1:4 with water. This is all well and grand but she won't take it with water. Any chance I'...

UPDATE:
Heya,
Thanks for your help! Done the warm compresses as much as she'd let me  and it went down quite quickly! Thank god! And the hairs growing back in now too.
Thanks again! :)

Lump and scratch behind ear

Hiya, My rattie has a bald patch with a scab behind her ear. I'm not sure what caused it as it must've happened when they were left with a friend whilst I was away. I also noticed her cage mate had really sharp nails when I came back, so I'm thinking she might have got a scratch when they were playi...
