Re: my first vet admition :(

Home now. Big bag of meds. Otto has a couple of stitches in his ear but is looking quite happy. I've put them both in a spare cage together with just some low hammocks.

I took them to the vets in pets at home and was quite impressed with her ratty knowledge :)

£110 poorer now tho

my first vet admition :(

Had to take Otto to the vets this morning for a bubbled up ear. He has a heamatoma so got to be operated on :( I also had the vet look at his back feet as they are a bit floppy. She said she will see if the meta am helps. I took poppy as well for company and to get her sniffles sorted. So she is now...

Re: Fresh foods my rats ate today

Kale, rice, apricots, seeded toast and omega oil. Otto loves fruit and rice. He closes his eyes in pleasure as he stuffs his face :)

Re: Fresh foods my rats ate today

A lean day today just dry mix and kale as the last few days they've been spoilt with boiled eggs, poached salmon, peshwari naan and rice and other dinner leftovers

Re: help please?

I add supermarket broth mix, and they get millet sprays from rat rations and some random dried beg to add a bit of interest. For protein they get a tin of pilchards/ maceral/ sardines once a week and leftover bones from dinner. Oh and boiled eggs

Re: 'Trauma'lump that has popped (Warning bit gruesome, sorr

He was fine. The vet said it was probably caused by a tiny wound, maybe a bramble prick or sharp seed or summat. Got to gross the kids out with pus :D
