Re: Is my rat sick, or just depressed?

I'm still fairly new to rat ownership so I'm not as clued up as many of the others. Rats can get depressed, I've seen it with one of my boys who had to be separated from the others for a while. Maybe moving her to the larger cage has unsettled her further. She's just lost her cagemate and is in new ...

Re: Anyone heard about this new implant?

When we took one of our boys in to be castrateded the vet said there is an implant that can be used. It's normally used in cats and dogs but it can be used in rats. It's rather expensive and effectiveness hasn't been fully proven. He said he wouldn't recommend it unless the rat shouldn't have anesth...

Re: The Savic Royal Family

Our 6 boys have been the top half of our SRS for well over a month now. I'm now slowly emptying the bottom half so we can give the boys the whole of the cage. This would mean I could set up lots of difficult balancing and jumping activities for the the 3 rescues and some easier ones for our Gallifre...

Re: Home Made Rat Mix

I suggest to read this book http://www.ratrations.com/the-scuttling-gourmet-p-849.html it helped me loads with making my home mix. It's full of great info but does take some reading and rereading to get your head around getting the balance right. It also has some handy recipes for treats as well and...

Re: Pigeon sounding, tiny rescues

Finally back from the vets (and wolfed my dinner down) Kay is defiantly respy, Albion slightly and Mordred sounds almost normal. Given 0.25mls of Septrin once daily for 7 days. If no improvement or get worse come back. He did warn (I was aware and thought was in back of my mind) that there maybe sca...

Re: Pigeon sounding, tiny rescues

Cheers They're booked in for 6pm today. Since being rescued they've been on a good diet though I was told by foster that they were very fussy. They've only shown the same fussiness as my older boys (they don't like carrots or fruits),think being with other rats has encouraged them to eat new things....

Pigeon sounding, tiny rescues

Last Wed we collected 3 rescue kittens from their foster mummy. They seemed ok though I was told that their 2 siblings were a little respy for a couple of days when they went to their new home but were then fine. When i got the new boys home they were a bit sneezy and were making rather a lot of fun...

Re: The Savic Royal Family

Whoop I ordered my SRS last night and should have it next week. I'm sooooooooo excited. No more painful back or twisting and worrying about my SCD wires moving and undoing its benefits whilst trying to clean cage. So, so far since buying (even though not got yet) 2 great benefits 1. Much better for ...

Re: How do You bath Your rats?

My boys like to smear wee and poo on their tails so they rather disgusting. I've only had them a few weeks but I've gently cleaned their tails with warm water and a tiny bit of animal wash and rinsed. Only did this coz they have a habit of putting their tails in people's mouths especially the kids. ...

Re: premature pts? time to make that decision :(

It's hard in situations like this. Been here a few times with various pets and animals. The only advice I can give is to go with your heart. Only you know your animals deep in your heart and that's where decisions like this need to come from xx

Re: Using Mobile Photobucket

When trying to post the image onto the forum from the mobile photobucket, forum message comes up saying image is too big. There's no options to make it smaller so it'll fit on the forum. Tried a few ways including emailing the photos to myself and set the images to a smaller size then copy the image...
