Re: Forget the bowl?

Great! Anything that reduces the washing up has to be a good thing :D

Forget the bowl?

Good evening everyone - I hope you have some sunshine in your wee corner of the world!

Quick, silly question...... When I fill the boys' food bowl up they promptly empty it and hide the food. Is it worth dirtying the bowl? Does anyone just "throw" the food in and let them forage?

Rabbit muesli

Good evening all

I'm going to switch my boys to a homemade food and have been searching through this forum for help. However I'm struggling to find a good quality rabbit muesli that didn't have hay through it. Can the rats have this, or do I need to keep searching?

Many thanks in advance

Cage wipes

Evening everyone
Can you use wipes for a quick cage clean? I've read baby wipes are OK, but what about antibacterial wipes?

Many thanks in advance

Re: Cozy Pet Cage

Thanks for this. Certainly the trays I've seen look like they'll attach to horizontal bars, but my cage has narrow vertical ones. I've ordered one from Wilko so I'll update if it's any good. With regards to the bottom of the cage, I never used the wire tray at the bottom and have only used the plast...

Cozy Pet Cage

Hey everyone

Does anyone have a Cozy Pet cage (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0711V ... h-keywords)? If so do you use a litter tray that can be attached to the bars? The only one I've bought won't attach & the boys keep moving it!! Thanks in advance

Re: What to do for the best

Just a thank you to you all for your help and support. I'm going to go right back to basics with Jasper and will let him come in his own time. Eric & Ernie are progressing well & are clearly the more outgoing pair.

(from the avatar, the boys are (l-r) Ernie, Jasper & Eric)

Re: What to do for the best

They are in the dining room, which is the main thoroughfare for the house. Everyone talks to them as they pass, and there's always noise & coming & goings. I'll see how things go tonight when I open the cage

Re: What to do for the best

Thank you for your kind words.
Am I best to back to baby food on a spoon and see how that goes for a couple of weeks?

Re: What to do for the best

I write this with tears running down my face. I was able to get Jasper into the snuggle bag & thought I would just spend time with him & locked t'other 2 in the cage. I made myself comfy on the sofa and Jasper hopped out of the BAG. Feeling smug I started to talk to him. In the blink of an eye he to...

Re: What to do for the best

It's unusual for a rat to not show some curiosity over what their cagemates are doing - does Jasper seem well? If he's fluffed up at all, or off his food in general, then I'd take him along to the vet asap. Hi Mary He's eating & drinking as much as the other 2, it's only his interest in me that's m...

What to do for the best

Hey everyone First time post from a first time rat owner. I got Eric, Ernie & Jasper from a well-known pet shop 3 weeks ago. After doing a lot of reading I started trust taming with jars of baby food. Eric & Ernie will take the food from a spoon, stand on my hand and walk across my lap (mind you, th...
