Re: Possibly pregnant rat!

I have a pic but I'm struggling with imagr atm, basically she is smaller in body size than my other girl, est 8 weeks old, but her belly feels bigger rounder and fuller than my other rat who is 12 weeks old. I only noticed when she ran up my washing line yesterday and i had to free her from some tow...

Possibly pregnant rat!

So I bought my single rat a friend, we have had her 2 weeks. She was tiny when i got her, apparently 6 weeks old and in a mix sex group. Both rats I have are definitely female. While playing today I noticed that my newest rat has a rather big, full feeling belly. Is there any way to tell if she's pr...

Invasive rat

I got a new rat as a friend for my current girl, and she is lovely. No problems handling her, shes very affectionate and outgoing, and loves being handled. My question is why is she determined to get inside my nose. She sticks her snout in my ears, which isnt too bad but last night she gor herself e...

Re: New single rat

I think the shop fed me a line to make a sale in all honesty. Shes much more affectionate than I was told.

Im getting a new cage next month, and will be getting her a friend or 2. She is 8-9 weeks now, so would 3-4 weeks be a good time to introduce friends?

Re: Claws splitting

Its from the tip diagonally up to the toe, but it stops at the edge of the claw before the the if that makes sense. Yes she is on her own at the moment. She was on her own in the shop and they told me she didnt get on with their other rats. I'm buying a much bigger cage than the one they gave me and...

Claws splitting

I've had my ratty lady for 2 weeks now and noticed her claws are long and look like one or 2 on her hind legs are splitting, a little like brittle fingernails in humans. I put a flat cement type brick block in her cage by the water but is there anything else I can to to keep her claws from getting t...

Re: New single rat

I have her in a squared mesh cage with a plastic base over the mesh if that makes sense. 70cm long, 45 wide and 50 high. It has a small shelf halfway up on one side. Ive given her a water bowl, dust free shavings, and i put a ball of soft hay in one corner. A few wooden chews and i have a hammock co...
