Re: Advice for neuturing

Great thanks for all the info. They never fight aggressively (no blood or foul play), so I dont think Branston is necessarily aggressive just extremely boisterous. The humping definitely needs to stop though. Would you advise getting them both done at the same time? I also had a recommendation of in...

Advice for neuturing

Hello, I'm thinking of getting my 2 boys neutered. My main reason is Branston has become super dominant all of a sudden (humping pickles constantly which is causing fights, marking all over pickles so the poor guy stinks, marking everywhere in general). They are both 6/7 months old, is this a good t...

Re: Pickles smells so bad

So I took him to the vets today, he has totally perked up the past couple of days. She thinks its stress, all his checks were fine. His cage mate has started showing a lot of dominance lately so think it's related to that

Another thing I noticed too, which I didnt think anything of, he scratches at his belly quite a lot too

Re: Pickles smells so bad

Thanks for your reply.
I will do and I'll let you know how we get on. He seems totally happy in himself, runs around bonkers, eating and drinking fine so I wouldn't have thought of anything being wrong.

Pickles smells so bad

Hey, Not sure whether this is the write section or not. One of my rats absolutely stinks, so much so that I can smell him if he runs in front of me. It's not an overly offensive smell but it's not pleasant. His cage mate Branston, I can only smell if I pick him up and sniff him. Just wondering if th...

Funny noise from young rat

Hi, I posted a couple months ago about one of my new rats who seemed to sneeze occasionally and I got reassured that this is quite normal. Well he has started to make this weird noise, almost similar to when we have a blocked nose and try blow it, it kind of honks? It's not all the time, maybe once ...

Re: Are my rats playing or fighting?

Thanks for the reply. I'll keep an eye on it, I think the fact they always go to bed together and cuddle up quite happily that it must just be play. I think they probs just get a bit hyper during their time out of the cage too, it never appears to get nasty and once a few squeaks have happened they ...

Are my rats playing or fighting?

So I've had branston and pickles for 3 months now, got them from the same cage at pets at home when they were 12 weeks old. Both full males. When they are in their cage they are always snuggling together but as soon as I let them out for play time they are constantly fighting and squeaking. They box...

Re: Sneezing

So just one more thing, with you saying "still okayish for Rats", what would you suggest as an alternative? Currently they get the nuggest as their main food, but i do give them some fruit and veggies daily too.

Re: Sneezing

If you want to keep them on nuggets for whatever reason, Science Selective nuggets are much better. Sorry just read some reviews on the food you suggested, is this an issue? "I used to love science selective. It was the only block food suitable for rats. Unfortunately it has now changed to “rat and...

Re: Sneezing

Ah okay good! Thank you so much for the reassurance.
He is still absolutely mental and loves nothing but to run circles around me haha.
I'll take a look into those, thanks for the suggestions!

Sneezing

Hi guys! I have got 2 lovely ratties, Branston and Pickles. They are roughly 16 weeks old and I've had them for 4 weeks. Pickles is a blonde and white ruby eyed rat and I've noticed he has started sneezing occasionally, I've googled it and it says rats shouldnt sneeze. He does it a little when I let...
