Re: Suitable Cage For 7 Does
Thankyou for the replies i've looked at all the recommended cages and LOVE the little zoo venturer its fab. Ive now gotten 2 second hand furets for a tower initially and in the mean time will be saving up for one of the big double door cages - aiming to upgrade towards the end of the year :D Oh, and...

Re: Suitable Mix Ingredients?
Thanks for clarifying Mary :) Its a shame they aren't nutritionally appropriate for rats as a lot of them look lovely, but not a problem I shall avoid. I'm currently looking into making an Isa-mix type mix as means I get to play around with the ingredients a bit more but going to start out fairly ba...

Re: Suitable Mix Ingredients?
I can recommend RR#3 as a base mix :luck: Rather than make yet another thread 🙈 Could you tell me if any of the seed/bird/bean mixes from Junglegold are of any use? I’d really like to give a diverse mix as possible without buying too many ingredients. Sounds stupid but I’d rather not buy the pre-ma...

Re: Suitable Mix Ingredients?
To be honest I’m leaning towards Rat Rations. It just might be easier to order everything from one place and then means I can actually get what I want instead of looking for alternatives

Re: Suitable Mix Ingredients?
Thankyou Mary
I know there’s a fair few other ingredients needed was just wondering about those particular ones based on what I can get locally.
Still looking around for other components. Have spent a ridiculous amount of time on rat rations website

Suitable Cage For 7 Does
Would a Furat Plus tower work? Or is the floor space too small?
I’ve just picked up a 2nd hand Furat Plus so wondering if I should get another to make a tower or just keep it as a spare/holiday cage and get something else/bigger?

Re: Commercial Base Mix?
Thanks for the replies :) Yes I’m just trying to see what I can find locally in smaller bags to begin with as buying huge bags for a small-ish number of rats I feel would be silly, especially as I only use a small amount of muesli for the rabbits added to their pellets for a bit of variety. Also goi...

Re: Commercial Base Mix?
Thanks Cub that is very helpful I always thought reggie rat was awful and recommend to avoid? Unless it’s changed in recent years that is. I’m guessing it’s the better one to use over Pah or wilkos muesli? When I go for a wander in town later in the week I will pop to wilkos and the range etc and ha...

Re: Commercial Base Mix?
I’ve also come across these which I’ve never seen before. I’m doubting they would be any good on their own but any good as part of a mix? https://www.wittemolen.com/en/products/puur-rat https://www.amazon.co.uk/Little-One-Complete-Food-Rats/dp/B00D4WA3NK/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?keywords=rat+food&qid=15843580...

Commercial Base Mix?
So having not had rats for around 10yrs, my copy of The Scuttling Gourmet is now a little outdated and a lot of the suggested commercial base mixes are now no longer produced, so just wondering what ones are used now? I know Harrison’s Banana Brunch is but not sure if I can source locally and not su...
