Re: When to get new rats?

Hi, I'm glad you're enjoying your rats, they make such great pets! As you mentioned, rats should never be kept alone, so when one of your pair does pass it would be good to make sure the remaining rat has company. It would be good to get your new rats soon just in case this does happen. There are se...

Re: Tips for taming skittish girls

Thanks for the reply! They're doing very well in intros so within the next few days I'll pop them in the big cage, as you say I think this will be a lot better for them as at the moment they are jumping at the noise of the cage door opening etc, which isn't an issue with large double door cages. Re: Separating sick rats?

That's great :) glad to have the feedback! Although they are currently with an exotic vet at the moment I haven't been pleased with all the treatment received so might have to do a bit of shopping around as I want the best for my babies :)

Re: Separating sick rats?

Thanks for the detailed reply! I rescue all my rats so many have come from iffy backgrounds and its likely that most of the owners who had them previously got them from a petp, hence the large amount of RIs I seem to be seeing. They are all hemp bedding and the cages are spot cleaned and and any ham...

Separating sick rats?

Hi, I have a fairly large group of rats where some have had respiratory infections, whenever they have had symptoms we take them to the vets who prescribes antibiotics but also recommendeds separating sick rats. I have done some reading around the topic and the general consensus seems to be that thi...
