Re: Thoughts please. ETA mixed animal room

I have a room with 2 chipmunks, 2 syrian hamsters, 4 mice, a winter white and a Roborovski and they all seem happy if that is helpful? :)

I also used to keep my hamsters across from my rats when they were downstairs and again they seemed happy

Tic Tac wheels

*Note. This review is about my use of these wheels for chipmunks, however the product is also suitable for rats and the review is not specific to chipmunks So I was sick of been woken up by my silent spinner. I saw a few people on a degu group talking about Tic Tac wheels and saw threads about them ...

Re: Tic tac wheel

Thinking of getting a couple of the plastic ones for my chipmunks- the silent spinner Launch has is driving me insane with its rattling.

How sturdy/good quality are they? Would love to see pics of how they attach to the bars

Lining cages

I have two cages that have bars on the bottom, due to the design if I took out the wire grid then escape would be extremely easy. I am wanting a liner to cover the bars, what would everyone recommend?

Re: Calcivet confusion

I'd do the insoluble powder because it's easy to get in them (very fine powder and basically tasteless) and you don't need to worry about things. Maybe phone up and see if you can get it swapped? Although RR are usually very quick at processing deliveries, so you'd have to do it first thing! If not...

Re: Calcivet confusion

Have you bought already, or are you asking in advance of deciding? I mean, you could try it and see if they'll drink it with only the Calcivet in there as I'm sure some people are less discerning taste-wise than others. But I wouldn't risk testing that out in summer, and I wouldn't bank on it (for ...

Re: Calcivet confusion

So originally it was just The Bird Care Co., but after a bit they realised that with such a specific brand name they needed to adjust it slightly when marketing the same products to people with other animals. Like how the original cardboard squares brand, Ecobed was Ecobed when marketed for horses,...

You add calcivet to water, it can be added to the same water that Dr Squiggles is in if you are using both.
It will just be the calcivet. Does it say how often and how much on the bottle?

Re: Wheel or no wheel?

In that case I think I will have to go for the silent spinner due to getting the wheel in the cage as the cage opening I have is only really big enough if I can take it off the stand (want my daughter to be able to take it in and out easily for cleaning without having to take the cage fully off fro...
