Re: One of my boys fights everyone, including me!

Personally, I would opt for the neuter, but if you want to leave it a bit longer in the hope he will temper his own behaviour, then you will need to be firm with him so he doesn't get away with dominating you - stop engaging with play fighting, instead be sure to occasionally pick him up on your ow...

One of my boys fights everyone, including me!

It seems like a common problem, but it's proving very hard for me to judge how to react to this one! I have 5 boys, all unneutered. One of them is the father (about 19 months old) and the other 4 are his kids (about 5 month old). I picked them up from a shelter about a month ago. Now, they all fight...

4 rats wanted!

After a couple of house moves, I'm now in a position where I can have rats again! I'm all set up for 4 rats in a fantastic cage and now I've a flat that's much more suitable for them to roam around in, located in central London. Re: URGENT London - 3 elderly males need new home by 30th Ju

Thank you all for the replies! I have arranged to hand off my boys to a great breeder in Surrey.
Heartbroken, of course, but it's what's best for them! Thanks again.

Do I really taste that good??

Random question! The raising of my new kittens (whom, it has been established, are a fair bit younger than you'd expect to find for a first-time rat owner like me) has been going well! I'm making a point to put my hand in the cage with them very often and they seem very comfortable with it - enough ...

Re: Raising Friendly Rats!

Goodness! That didn't take too long at all. I decided to hit a middle ground. Rather than taking them out of the cage completely and letting them roam on the bed, over this weekend I've been giving them lots of little trips out side of the cage. Less than a minute, really. I've also been giving them...

Re: Raising Friendly Rats!

Thanks for the replies! They were three weeks when they were sold to me - at least that's what the breeder said. I had hoped that younger would be better and, all things considered I think they're doing very well. My main problem is that my flat is not very rat friendly. Old floorboards with a few h...

Raising Friendly Rats! ETA taming underage kittens

Hi all! I'm a first time rat owner and I've had my three boys (four weeks old now) for just about a week. They have a huge cage with all the trimmings and they seem comfortable enough exploring around it. So naturally, I want to start getting them used to coming out of it! At first, my thought was t...
