Just wondering given your question here about side sucking and your totally different question on NFRS about baytril dosages  It's ok Beri, this really is just a curiosity question... With regards to my ot...

Curious about "side sucking"

I was wondering if any of you had video footage of side sucking? I've seen various posts regarding their rats doing this when ill and I wondered how I would identify this if it was to happen with one of my rats... Is it really obviously different from regular breathing? It's just one of those things...

Re: Castrated buck in with girls

Thanks for the replies. It's helped to settle me nerves a bit. Ernie looks so miserable on his own bless, nad-day can't come soon enough. Literally counting down the days till he can go in with the girls. I think that it had only been he and Bert during his lifetime then when they came to live here,...

Castrated buck in with girls

Ernie (my rescue boy of unknown age, estimated at 20 months now) turned against one of my babies during intros and left him with quite a nasty wound so I had to separate him. I obviously don't want him to stay on his own so he's going to visit the nad fairy next Monday (4th Nov) and the plan is for ...

Re: How can I help a rat that is extremely obese?

The sooner you get him on a muesli style diet the better. I know you're feeding nuggets temporarily but have you been told that they're selectively feeding? If not, I would just give the Shunamite mix a go and see how they get on, they might surprise you! ;) x

Re: Extremley distressing vet experience!

Sorry, no, but I didn't want to read and run. What a horrific experience for you and your beloved boy. I would suggest writing a letter of complaint to the practice manager, detailing everything that happened and if you don't get any satisfaction from their reply, write to BCVS. (((hugs))) for what ...

North of England Rat Society (NERS)

"The society was birthed in June 2001 by a diverse group of ratters who were keen to see a democratic rat club representing the interests of rat lovers in the North of England. The society, whilst serious about the rat as an exhibition animal, has always maintained a heavy bias towards the rat as a ...

Re: Fresh foods my rats ate today

This morning during free range, the girls were getting tucked into their "living" salad and growing mint and basil plants.

As well as their dry mix tonight, they have had a bowl of cucumber, curly kale, carrot and cherry tomatoes. There's none left now :) x
