I've only had my rat for a week and a half and I've noticed that my rat looked fatter under his neck than my brothers. I check under her neck and to my surprise there were two hard lumps. Do not really not what they are. As of right now my rat is doing fine and she has not been acting weird, but I did quarantine her from the other rats.

I would get your rattie checked by a vet, how high up are the lumps like under the jaw or further down? They could be lumps of a not very nice kind. Male or female as you’ve referred to his and her lumps?

They are probably abscesses, most likely linked to the lymph nodes in that location - I've known cases where they were caused by a very contagious bacteria, so watch out for the others developing them too.

The rats a female. The two lumps are in the neck area.

Agreed, sounds like possible tissue abscesses rather than jawbone or ZGT.
If you can, I would consider getting a culture and sensitivity test done when they rupture in order to target the bacteria - especially if as Cyber Ratty says its contagious.

Is fine needle aspiration possible in this location for culturing purposes, Cyber Ratty, SarahH ?

I think they tend to be quite 'cheesy' in that area, so a needle might find it hard. Perhaps easier to wait until it ruptures - apply regular hot compresses to speed it up.
