Large mole on ear lobe?

Post by muppo2000 » Wed Jan 02, 2019 8:11 pm

Hi all, I'm Greg... I have two (one year old) little boy ratties a small blue/grey rexy called cookie and chunky white and brown rex called Dexter.
Now for a while Dexter has had what looks like a mole on the lobe of his left ear... But over time it appears to gradually be getting bigger!
There doesn't appear to be any inner ear infections and I don't think there's a PT as there's no swelling in his cheek etc? Just this dark puffy lump/mole on his ear lobe?
He doesnt seem affected by it... He's still packing away plenty of food and runs around just fine, and he's not really scratching at it. But I'm just concerned as I've not come across any pictures or descriptions of any other rats with anything similar.
Has anyone else come across a rat with a lump on their ear lobe?
Any ideas what it could be? Mole/abscess/tumor?
Thanks
Greg

I've never heard of earlobe lumps before but given that it's growing, I'd suggest getting a sample taken to see what it is.
Poo-shoveller to: Calyn and Din.
Fondly remembering: Xeltan the wonky, Lita (NLA32), Lia (NLA28), Zephyr Delanynder (NLA28), Falere (NLA36), Mirala (NLA36), Zephyr Opold, and Rila.
