Red nose crusting after intros

Post by vergo97 » Sat Apr 06, 2019 9:52 am

Hi,

I've recently introduced three new rats to my two boys, and things seem to be going well other than the occasional squabble/chase. A few of them have developed some red crusting around their noses though; I know this happens when rats have respiratory problems, but could it also "just" be caused by them being a bit stressed from the introductions? They don't have any signs of health problems other than the red noses

Thanks

Yes it can be a sign of stress. Keep an eye on them though in case an opportunistic bug like myco affects them.
