Rat chewing make-up sponge

Post by blondie03 » Sat Apr 22, 2017 1:41 am

Hi

Have two girl rats 6mths old and recently one managed to access my makeup bag and grabbed my sponge ripping it to shreds. Anyone know if sponge is toxic? She loves it and made a God awful noise when I took it off her so if it's not harmful thinking of just giving her whats left to shred.

Thanks

:D

Assuming there's no make-up on the sponge I'd have thought it was okay!

Rats can close the back of their mouth with their cheeks while they gnaw with the front of their mouths, so it's unlikely she'd have swallowed any anyway :)

I wouldn't necessarily let her have the rest just in case, but I wouldn't worry too much about what she's had a go at already. :luck:
