Change in dynamics in the griup

Post by Caza66 » Wed Feb 28, 2018 7:50 am

I lost one of my boys at the weekend but now the dynamics have changed. I have 3 neutered and 3 intact boys. The 2 youngest, Rocket and Groot, are 8 months old and have been particularly naughty once they got big enough. They have mounted one of my neutered bucks for a while and whilst it hasn’t been constant, since we lost Kevin they have terrorised Drax constantly. I have pulled Rocket and Groot into another cage last night as it got too bad. Although there is no aggression, they are relentless. I think it is also compounded as one of my other neutered boys, Neb, has a possible pt. he had his second steroid last night but it hasn’t worked as well.

I was thinking of getting Rocket and Groot neutered, good idea? Or is it’s worth going back to a carrier? This has been the most difficult group I have had in all the time I have had rats :(
Officially ratless. Groot, Star-lord, Yondu adopted by another rat lover.

It's worth trying a re-introduction to help them establish a fresh hierarchy, but if it doesn't work, then neutering R&G is probably the best option.
