Alpaca fleece

Post by sardines » Wed Feb 21, 2018 4:40 pm

Hey just going through different bedding to see what my ratties like best. I was winding if alpaca fleece was suitable for rats or would it get tangly if that makes sense?

It’s says it’s been short straight from the alpacas, not treated and that it’s hypoallergenic

Thanks :)

Are you meaning to make hammocks out of or to lay on the floor of the cage? No idea about the fleece itself, but floors need to have a nice deep layer of something loose to facilitate scatter feeding, burrowing, and nesting behaviours - try shredded or chopped cardboard, or kiln dried dust extracted softwood shavings (sold by horse supply shops).
