I know that rats shouldn't have too high a protein diet, so this is mostly just for that extra protein they need as youngsters, rare treats to mix it up and not as a main staple.
The dog mostly gets store brought raw dried and cooked meat treats (she rarely has anything with the word 'derivative'!) but there's still usually some ingredient or other that I'm not sure about. The terrapins have a mixed complete food in addition to their fresh with krill, shrimp and insect bits I can indentify and pick out. BUT is there anything I'm not aware of that would make these kind of treats unsuitable for rats?
Also, I've heard that rats like chewing on cattle ears, is this true? I'm sure the dog wouldn't notice if I cut a bit of hers for them
