Introducing my new Zolux Chocolate Carla Aviary :) I have 4 girlies in this one and they are loving the extra space.

Initial set up after it had arrived

Big door on front

Small door on side - there are 4 of these

Today's layout after some purchases and adjustments

The girls seem to enjoy the new layout over the old as there are more platforms for them to hop onto. As nobody else seems to have this cage I might do a review of it at some point.

It's now all ready for new girls from Shiprat in a week or two. Loved watching them explore it last night :)

I've adapted it so that the whole front of the bottom half swings open like a door

Tall Chinchilla - the wheel resides at the bottom as the girls run so fast on it, it makes the cage wobble!

Set up getting there. Need more ropes. Looking good and rats love it which is main thing.

Pre-clean out, please excuse the recently killed hammock in the bottom and the cardboard they've carefully moved around the cage

Image

This is my brio medium and is home to 5 does, aged 8 to 21 months. Layouts are reasonably challenging for the older girls, but still safe enough that they shouldn't have any long falls. The purple corner litter tray and the pink baskets are used for extra foraging. Treats are put in the hanging basket as a wobbly food challenge! I've bolted the ikea carrier bag storage-thingy to the side using old brackety-do-dahs from dead lava ledges. The top door drawbridge lowers when opened to give the girls access to the sofa for out time most of the weekends and evenings (throws are usually on the sofa to 'protect' it, currently drying after a wash)...
