Some set ups from then I was using my Furet Plus.

It is now my holiday cage as I felt it wasn't big enough for 3 rats as a permanent cage. In the first 4 photos it was being used as a temporary cage as Snippet had chewed out of the Abode. The other photos are from when I either had a pair or was doing intros.

I really need to put some thought into my boys cage now they've started to settle down!

Current set up is shown below. Their cage is currently lined with fleece / towels, so i think that this weeks task is to sort them a digging box out (which might then stop everything getting flung out of their litter tray?  They love the "bridges" made from the old pairs of tights :) Have got a couple more hammocks and things to go in there this week, so might take the shelf out?

I finally received all of my stuff today! I washed out the travel case and dropped my two girlies in there. They weren't very pleased, but I think they'll forgive me. :P I then set out to deck out the ultimate furnished cage. I had bought two platform and ramp sets, but I only needed one. So the other became a spare. I'm really pleased that ECF also gave me a pink free hammock to match the cage as I couldn't choose the colour (It was free with orders over £35). I didn't originally intend to have a pink theme, but the baskets I received with my cage and the discount platforms were pink, so I thought "Why not?"

Anyway! The before and after pics:

Latest set up includes them having to climb and balance to reach their coop cup with their dry mix in. Lots of climbing and stretching to get anywhere - they've learnt to be quicker though by just launching themselves

Adam and Eves' current abode.

Downsized due to health eyes (all surrounding their eyes)

Also change the lay out often

Like most rats, my girls love their hammocks. Here's Eve begging for treats from her hammock.

 Benji and Oliver's Home

My boys current set up (yes I know lots of girly pink but they don't mind  ) I've just bought another ferplast furet and I'm going to attach the two to make a tower - so will send pictures of that when completed but thought would show their current set up incase people were looking for ideas.

What's in it:

They have 3 gnaw sticks (left) which creates stairs - they really use these and they are only 99p each - excellent cage buy!
2 wooden platforms - used frequently - good cage buy.
A small litter tray high up near their beds (I heard boys can be lazy about going to the loo but mine so far have been good!) - (see how they go with it)
A fuzzbutt corner hammock - brand new (see how they go with it - seem to love)
A large sputnick - brand new (see how they go with it - seem to love)
Savic tunnel - this used to be my hamsters! I want to get them a bendy one ;)
Ladder bridge - You can buy these in Wilkinsons for half the price they are elsewhere.
Rope perch - (zooplus - bird section) - brand new (see how they go with it)

At the bottom:
a coconut bridge - they seriously love this.
Tissue box - they love
Main litter tray - 98% of the time they use

Not sure if it's a little cluttered but so far my ratties get about 3-4 hours free range every night.

This is a tempory cage while the babies Howard and Raj get plumped up enough to join the big boys!

I do love the Furet and they do too!

Image

Hammocks and cube are made by me.

This was before I picked them up - hence why there's an empty bowl and no waterbottle! (And why it's so clean!)

This is the boys cage currently. Still messing with layouts etc, trying to work out what suits them best!

Not the best photo but it's difficult to fit it all in with nothing in the background.

Here's my set up for three young boys. You can actually see Rupert peeking out through the 'modified' pouch. Apparently Reggie decided he needed a panoramic view!

Image

They all seem to love it and when they're not sleeping they're either wrestling each other or climbing the bars. They all get free range time out of the cage every day.
