Hi,
I did have a rat with normal soft fur (R.I.P Kimi) but now i am getting rexes on saturday and i was wondering, besides extra grooming, what else do i have to do differently?

You don't have to groom rats at all anyway, regardless of coat type, because they groom themselves and each other. ;)

With rexes, keep a look out for sore eyes in case they get an ingrowing eyelash. You may also see the occasional small cyst on their skin where a hair hasn't emerged properly, but they usually don't need any treatment.
