older age problems

Post by Kesjo » Thu Aug 12, 2021 9:26 am

my 18 month old male starts to show his age. he is not as strong and stable when climbing, his fur isn't as smooth anymore and he has lost some weight around the flanks (he isn't skinny)
i started him on this supplement about a month ago. it seems to help him https://ratrations.co.uk/healthcare/sup ... over---drs

he is on a adult mix, kidney friendly. i have some urine test strips available, thinking about testing his urine. what should i look for?
anything else i can do for him? he seems happy, healthy and is active (lazy) self.

If it's linked to his kidney function, then giving Ipakitine may help. On the strips you'll be looking for raised protein levels (compare with one of your other rats).
