Severe ear infection?

Post by Nathan » Tue Sep 07, 2021 1:40 am

Is it possible for an inner ear infection (symptoms: head tilt and balance issues) to become so severe in 4-5 days that a rat becomes immobile and incapable of eating and drinking?

Ear infections need prompt treatment, but they shouldn't cause a rat to become immobile, it's more usual for them to be corkscrewing when the infection is at its worst.

Thank you.

Can a pituitary tumour cause corkscrewing?

No, a PT usually presents with a sort of hunched posture, spiky coat, a sense of not really being with it, and an inability to hold food with hands crossing over each other.
