question about supplementing

Post by Kesjo » Sun Jul 25, 2021 8:43 am

i like to feed science selective because my rats love it, and they seem healthy on it and it provides the basic nutrients.
but, i also think it is boring for them. so i feed about 50% SS and 50% ratrations mix.
i supplement once or twice a week in some wet food (calcivet, tiny animal essentials, easy mover (because i have an 20 month old male in the group) and bioplus are mixed in the food in small amounts. is this ok?

do you use something like easy mover for older rats, and how often/how much do you use? can all the rats have it? also the younger ones?

and also another question about antibiotics and calcivet/bioplus: i have a rat on amox twice a day, how much time should be between the AB and giving some food with calcivet or bioplus?

The frequency of supplementing seems fine, but I don't know anything about easy mover (or bioplus) - is that like senior aid?

I can't help you with the antibiotic time interval either I'm afraid.

Yes easy mover is something like senior aid.
Bioplus is a probiotic.
